Misdemeanors

Misdemeanors are crimes usually punishable by up to 12 months in the county jail, probation and/or a maximum $1,000 fine.  Misdemeanors are often taken lightly, but convictions (including guilty pleas) can carry adverse consequences. For example, if you are convicted of misdemeanor drug offenses, your driving license may be suspended.  Also, if you are convicted of certain misdemeanors, you may be prohibited from receiving a firearms permit.   However, our attorneys are able to help resolve your charges and address any collateral consequences that may accompany charges of this nature.
